mini rainbows

almost every year, my mom asks me to bake something to give to her co-workers. last year, i made chocolate cookies with mini m&ms. this year she wanted cupcakes. i was actually in the mood to bake so i went out and bought ingredients. i actually had to go to two different stores because the first one was out of red food colour. popular colour this time of year.

last year's cookies
cant really see much, but theyre in there
they look weird and gross on top/without icing.
but they look really pretty from the side
of course i sampled one. its really moist and i love how the sides arent burnt at all.
even the paper looks pretty :3
i couldnt make bright coloured batter because the base was yellowish, so i settled for pastel colours. i couldve used more food colour but then the cupcakes would taste funny.

ill probably make something else during the holidays. i want to perfect red velvet. my batter is never bright enough. it always turns magenta-ish. and i want to re-try making french macarons. my cousins and i failed miserably at making buttercreme and our cookies were sort of flat because i over mixed the batter. :(

excuse my wet hair. i took this photo right after taking a shower.
ive only worn this out (i usually only wear it at home) a couple of times. both times, ive raised eyebrows and turned heads. i dont know if they were: "wow, shes from harvard!" or "really, shes from harvard?"

im not really harvard graduate. i did, however, visit boston last year and pick up this sweatshirt (and some other things) after walking around the main campus. im really just a big fan of their colour.

here are a few photos i took around the main campus and boston:
the rest are here

picked this up at the family & friends umbra sale yesterday.
ive been eying the fotofalls line since i got my instax and fisheye.
then my brother started working for umbra. hello, discounts & VIP passes.

presents for the youth group exchange gift game thing tonight.
my brother got them and i wrapped.
i loved making the ribbons :3

taken last night while transferring, uploading and scanning.
i was so tired, but im surprised the contacts didnt make my eyes that red.

night light

i love that the stars create a soft glow in my room.
like wide open arms telling me, "come."
like a warm, loving hug in the dead of winter.

so as night turned to day,
curled up under the blanket,
i replied to the invitation.

three things

one: we decided not to use the stars downstairs. so, naturally, i take them. ive been wanting them in my room since we got them.

two: my hair is getting messier as it gets longer. a few more inches and *snip*snip* away they go. im donating, at least, 10 inches to the canadian cancer society. ive always wanted to donate hair but i never had the patience to grow it long enough or keep it chemical-free. as of today, my hair has been chemical free for 3 years (or so) and my last haircut was in march.

three: its been a while since i busted out my camera. and of course, the first set of photos i take are of me. *le sigh*. & i know this photo is totally out of focus. not my intention but i didnt want to take another photo.

no ones dead

but my heart is grieving.

i can understand why you insist on pretending.
sometimes i struggle with that too.

its fun now,
but we all end up the same way.

but i really hope its not too late when you wake up.
id hate to see you trip & fall,
when the only one who can catch you,
you rejected repeatedly.

beware, those who offend you
they may be right
and destroy your spirit
be aware, those to defend you
they may be wrong

and destroy your soul

i think i might be back ...

after almost a year of wandering...
after almost a year of mindless blabbing...
after almost a year of garbage...

i think i found my way back here.

to where it all began
to a place where i can just be me
and forget about who might be watching

after almost a year
many things have changed

i'm back
but i'm not the same.
